This seems to be very accurate when dealing with computers and technology. Almost every time I run into an impassible problem, I find the the simplest of solutions tends to be the one that works.
The most recent example of this was in trying fix a VPN after creating new Root CA and Intermediate CA certificates. A coworker spend most of the weekend trying everything he could think of to troubleshoot the issue. On Monday, he asked me to help him with a fresh set of eyes on the situation. It was just before lunch that I decided to check on something that we thought we had already tried. This time however we restarted the service that depended on that setting and everything started working. It may seem that this rule may apply to many areas in life more than technology, but it doesn't work in all areas.
